Ronald Reagan - Crusader
If you really want to read a brilliant book about the subject of Ronald Reagan and the collapse of the Soviet Union, then you positively must pick up the recently published CRUSADER. The title of the book comes from what the KGB and the Kremlin had referred to Reagan as....a driven crusader looking to ring down the Soviet regime. Oh, how right thy were. There was clearly NO ONE who put more pressure on the Soviets and did more damage to it than Ronald Reagan. Shockingly, there has been little written about this "crusade" in recent years, but thanks to the current 'political war,' books on the subject of politics have come into vogue. While a large number of what has ben released can be referred to as (and I am being kind) GARBAGE, there are a few brilliant works that come out.
Before I get into the substansive aspects of the book, I want to point out an important note here: please do not be dismissive of the book or of Reagan due to disagreements with current political figures. To dismiss Reagan and his success from a purely ideological basis would be intellectually dishonest as well as self defeating.
