And Your Qualifications Are?
My qualifications are as follows: I pay Go Daddy so I can have a blog.
That's all folks.
No, I do not possess a degree in international affairs and have no intention of pursuing any graduate work in the field of Soviet Studies. Nope. None of that. What this blog is, is simply an updated version of what had been known in previous generations as a newsletter or a fanzine. This is a labor of love because I simply have an interest in the Cold War and its effects on popular culture and world history. I watched the end of the Cold War unfold on my TV screens and I lived through the beginning of the end in the 1980's and even remember the Soviets getting an edge on the USA in the late 1970's.
I also remember the multitude of television programs and films that dealt with the Cold War. (Was Rambo 3 the last, official Cold War propaganda film?) So, I am pretty familiar with the subject. Ultimately, the United States was victorius in its struggle during the Cold War and, sadly, the Cold War does not seem to be a topic in the educational system nor are there even may mentions of it in the media. How sad. Hopefully, I can do my little part to correct this with my blog. Little amateur that I may be.
