Resuming Bomber Flights
This blog was supposed to be about the HISTORY of the Cold War, but it looks like history is rapidly becoming the present as Russia has decided to resume old bomber flights.

Is there an ultimate purpose of this? The Cold War did not exactly end with an upbeat note on Russia's part so to try and dip into the "glory days" of the past is hardly the way to go with rebuilding Russia's empire. What threat to Russia's vital interest is present that the need for running long range bomber missions will be required? The resuming of bomber missions is a deliberate action and such deliberation should indicate a purpose. But, really, what is the purpose of all this posturing?
