While we all think of weapons of mass destruction in terms of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons we do not realize how powerful some of the conventional weapons in the possession of the United States and Russia and China. This bomb - the father of all bombs - is designed to explode into a massive fireball with the power of incinerating a massive amount of geography and all that is at ground zero of the fireball's blast. I need to do a little extra research into the purpose of this type of bomb and why it has been developed. Weapons are not designed haphazardly. There is usually a specific purpose in mind for the weapon with a notion of using on a specific front. The Neutron Bomb, for example, was designed to counter a massive advance of tank brigades into Western Europe. So what is the purpose of the Father of All Bombs? This is pure speculation on my part but I believe the purpose of this would be for use in Chechnya if another war breaks out.
